Interior Wraps & Window Film Warranwood

Interior Wrap & Film Specialists for Warranwood

Most of Warranwood was built in a fairly short burst. Housing subdivisions picked up in the early 1990s on land that had been bush and grazing country, so a lot of homes here are now around thirty years old. That is about the age when kitchens, robes and bathrooms start to look dated even though the cabinetry is still sound.

It is also a suburb with plenty of trees and reserves, with Andersons Creek and Jumping Creek running through it, so many homes look out onto green space. We’re based just down the road in Mitcham and regularly travel to Warranwood to help owners freshen things up without starting again.

What we see in Warranwood homes

Kitchens from the 1990s often have vinyl wrapped doors (sometimes called thermo or vacuum formed doors) or laminate. The vinyl type can start peeling near the oven and dishwasher, and those doors need the old skin stripped and the board checked before we wrap over them. Laminate doors are usually in better shape and take a wrap well.

Bathrooms and ensuites from the same period tend to have clear framed shower screens and cultured marble or laminate vanities. They’re easy to update with film, and it’s a nice middle step before a full bathroom renovation.

Because so many houses face reserves or treed back yards, window film choices lean toward clear UV films rather than dark tints. Families here often want to keep the light and the view and simply stop the sun damaging floors and couches.

Honest advice before you decide

Not every surface should be wrapped. If doors are swollen from water, or the board is crumbling around hinges, a wrap will look fine for a while and then fail. We’ll point that out. Areas beside a cooktop or oven need care and sometimes are best left alone.

For shower screens, the glass needs to be properly cleaned of soap scum and hard water marks before film goes on, and we’ll tell you if the screen is too far gone. On windows, double glazing or existing tints mean we check compatibility first.

How we go about it

It starts with a free quote and on site measure, with swatches so you can see finishes in your own home. We prepare each surface, remove handles where needed, and apply the wrap or film carefully, trimming to fit. Afterwards, read through the curing period and inspection page and our maintenance tips so the finish lasts.

Warranwood FAQs

The doors on my 1990s kitchen are peeling. Can they be wrapped?

Often they can, but not straight over the peeling layer. Vacuum formed vinyl doors from that era need the old skin removed first, and then we check the board underneath. If it’s sound, it can be prepared and wrapped. If it’s swollen or damaged, especially near the dishwasher or oven, those doors may need replacing before wrapping makes sense.

Can film go on a clear shower screen?

Yes. Frosted, privacy and decorative films can be applied to most glass shower screens. The glass needs a thorough clean first to remove soap scum and mineral build up, otherwise the film won’t bond properly. We’ll check the screen during the measure and recommend a film suited to a wet area, along with cleaning advice.

Will UV film change how my windows look from inside?

Clear UV films are designed to be very hard to notice, so your view to the garden or reserve looks much the same. Tinted films change the look more, darkening the glass slightly and reducing glare. We bring samples to the measure so you can hold each one against the window and decide what you’re comfortable with.
