Maintenance for Lasting Protection

Window film, interior vinyl wraps and surface protection film are all designed to be low maintenance, but a few simple habits help them look good for longer. Here is how we recommend looking after each one once the curing period has passed.

Window Film

Clean with a soft microfibre cloth or rubber squeegee and a mild, ammonia free glass cleaner or soapy water. Avoid abrasive pads, razor blades and scrapers on the filmed side of the glass, and be careful sticking tape or suction cups onto the film.

Let It Cure First

Give new window film time to cure before you clean it, and go gently on fresh wraps and benchtop film for the first few days. Our curing period page explains what is normal while everything settles.

Interior Vinyl Wraps

Wipe wrapped cabinets, doors and joinery with a damp microfibre cloth and mild soapy water, then dry. Avoid solvents, bleach, abrasive creams and scourers, which can dull or mark the finish.

Heat and Edges

Keep high heat away from wrapped surfaces, including kettles, toasters and appliances that vent hot air onto cupboard doors. When cleaning, wipe along edges and corners rather than into them so you do not lift the film.

Benchtop & Stone Protection Film

Use a soft cloth with warm water and a little mild detergent. Keep using chopping boards and trivets: the film handles everyday scratches, stains and etching well, but sharp knives and hot pans can still damage it.

Spills and Stains

Wipe up spills such as wine, oil and acidic juices promptly, even on protected surfaces. Leaving them to sit makes cleaning harder and can mark the film over time.

If Something Changes

If you notice an edge lifting, a bubble appearing or a mark that will not clean off, call us on 0419 585 539 rather than trying to fix it yourself. Small issues are much easier to deal with early.
