Interior Wraps & Window Film Templestowe

Interior Wrap & Film Specialists for Templestowe

Templestowe is a suburb of big blocks, established gardens and homes that look out over trees or the Yarra valley. Much of it was opened up for housing from the 1970s onward, so you see a lot of large brick family homes from that era, along with newer rebuilds on generous sites.

Those homes tend to have wide windows and open living areas, which is lovely until the afternoon sun pours in. From our Mitcham base it is an easy drive north, and in Templestowe most of our conversations are about sun control and updating a large kitchen without starting again.

Templestowe homes: space, views and plenty of sun

Templestowe is in the City of Manningham, with Westerfolds Park and the river trails nearby and Templestowe Village on the corner of James and Anderson Streets as the local shopping and dining hub. Many houses are set back from the street on larger blocks, with family rooms opening onto decks and pools.

That layout means lots of glass, often facing north or west to catch the view. The result is heat in summer and faded timber floors and furniture over time. Inside, plenty of these homes still have kitchens from when they were built, often large ones with an island, where the layout works fine but the finish feels dated. Wrapping the doors and panels is a practical way to change the look without losing the kitchen for weeks.

Services that suit Templestowe properties

From first visit to finished job

We start with a free quote and on site measure. For window work we look at which way the glass faces and how the room is used across the day. For kitchens we count doors, panels and profiles and check their condition. Sample swatches come with us, so you can compare finishes in your own light.

On install day we prepare every surface so the film or wrap bonds properly, then apply and trim by hand. There is a settling time afterwards, explained on our curing period and inspection page, and our maintenance guide covers cleaning once it has cured.

When film or wrap is the right call, and when it isn’t

We would rather tell you straight than sell you the wrong thing. Older homes can have double glazed units or glass that already carries a tint, and not every film is suitable for every type of glass. We check compatibility before recommending a product.

In the kitchen, a wrap needs a sound base. Doors that are swollen from water or have lifting edges need repair first. We also keep wrap clear of spots that get very hot, such as tight gaps beside an oven or cooktop. If a surface is not a good candidate, we will say so.

Templestowe FAQs

Our Templestowe living room gets a lot of afternoon sun. Which film should we look at?

It depends on whether heat, glare or fading bothers you most. Heat control tint suits rooms that get uncomfortably warm, while UV film is aimed at protecting floors and furniture. Some films do a bit of both. We look at the orientation of the room, the type of glass and what you want to keep seeing outside, then show you samples on the day.

Can you wrap a kitchen island as well as the cabinets?

Usually, yes. Island panels, end panels and kickboards can often be wrapped to match the doors, as long as the surfaces are flat or gently shaped and in good condition. Very ornate profiles or damaged edges may not suit a wrap. We check every piece during the measure and tell you which parts will work well.

Will window film block our view of the garden?

Not if we choose the right film. Many tint and UV films are designed to keep the view clear from inside, especially during the day. Darker or more reflective films change the look more, and at night you may notice a reflection inside. We bring samples so you can hold them against your own windows before deciding.
